Regional Fiber Advocacy Series: Understanding Fiber Legislation
What: Fiber Advocacy Series: Part 1 - Learn About the Issues & the Legislators
Who: PNWFC Membership
Where: Online via Zoom
When: September 14, 2026 at 7:00pm - 8:00pm
Why: Regional and national legislation directly impacts our regional fiber economy here in the Pacific Northwest. In this panel seminar, you’ll have the opportunity to hear from legislators and advocacy experts from across our region. We’ll work together to understand what legislation is in debate right now, what may be coming in the future, and how it all affects your business and the producers and businesses you love to support.
This series is important to businesses and consumers alike because ultimately everything we do — the machines we purchase, the money we make, the yarn we buy — is attached to the law. Because the fiber economy is strongly bonded to the general economy, even laws and regulations that don’t sound like they would affect us, do. So let’s talk about it. Let’s figure it out together.
In part one of this series, we will present on the current issues that impact the fiber economy and which legislators are directly involved with those issues. In part two, we will listen to business and consumer needs related to those issues and conclude by writing letters to lawmakers to advocate for those needs.
