PNWFC Seminar: Sales Series (Part 2 of 2)

Sales Series: Merchandising & Booth Design

What: Sales Series: Merchandising and Booth Design (Part 2 of a 2 part series)

Who: PNWFC Membership

Where: Online via Zoom

When: June 15, 2026 at 12:00pm - 1:00pm

Why: In this second part of the Sales Series, we’re going to humorously remind you that you are a Fiber Professional, so let’s start acting like it! As a business owner, you are part of the economic ecosystem that is commerce. How you move in that ecosystem not only determines your success, but also affects others — consumers, businesses, and the entire circular supply system.

In this seminar, we’ll cover three critical elements of selling your product in retail spaces (including fiber shops and festivals) that have a huge impact on the perception and profitability of your business:

  • Framing Your Product or Your Space - How you help yarn shop owners sell your product, and definitely how you design your physical booth at a festival, can make or break your sales. Learn key visual and sales psychology that will help you sell more.

  • Speaking About Your Product - The way you talk about your product and to customers can often have a bigger impact than how you visually frame your products, so let’s be sure you’re confident!

  • Getting Comfortable With Selling - Everyone hates sales, right? Wrong! You shouldn’t hate selling if you’re matching the right customer to the right problem and solving a real need. Learning how to do that will feel empowering!

Part 1: Professionalism & Stepping Into “Capital B Business”

Many folks in our PNW fiber economy start with passion and determination, not always a business degree. Many folks tread humbly, saying, “Oh this? This is just a hobby — I just love wool!” No matter how your business started, it is important to the health of the entire PNW natural fibers & textile ecosystem that you treat yourself and your business professionally.

In this seminar, we will discuss what it means to be a Fiber Professional and ways to step into your role within the concept of the whole PNW fiber economy. In one way or another, your community may actually depend on it.

Part 2: Merchandising & Booth Design

Sometimes small changes to your product presentation can make all the difference when it comes to sales. In this seminar, we will examine how the manner in which you set up your shop or booth at events can effect sales and look at some examples of effective & successful booth design.
