Fiber Trades Cultivation

PNWFC strives to create a legacy of fiber production through education, stewardship, and trades cultivation.

The path forward into a regenerative economy veers away from mass-manufactured fiber and textile goods toward small and mid-size regional production models. Fiber Trades Cultivation means stimulating interest and increasing access to fiber skills and trades in order to develop and nurture more regionally available goods.

Trades cultivation starts with planting seeds.

Presentations and symposiums educating groups on natural fibers and what they mean to the PNW region are the first step. From there, PNWFC will promote existing fiber skills programs, classes, workshops, and groups with the goal to increase participation and foster inspiration. As PNWFC grows as an organization, we hope there will be opportunities to encourage and/or develop curriculum for adult learning programs and beyond.

The more hands on fiber, the better!
